Oakapple Designs Ltd is an established company with over 15 years of experience in the manufacture and production of specialised resin casting and mould making.

We specialise in producing hand crafted faithful reproductions of oak carvings made from moulds that have been taken directly from the original carvings found within the cathedrals and Abbeys of the UK. These carvings are mainly found upon the lavishly decorated and ornate Misericords of the choir stalls and date from the medieval period.

The company is headed by Philip Youle, BA (Hon's). I.D.P. and based in the Sheffield area of England. We have a wealth of skills and experience gained over a number of years in this unique line of work, with our range of specialised products being both unique and exclusive to us.

Oakapple Designs Ltd are the only company in the United Kingdom with permission from the Deans and Chapters of the cathedrals to take direct copies from these magnificent carvings and to then reproduce them for resale, to the Cathedral Gift shops and to our own customers both retail and wholesale.

For over the past 15 years we have visited most of the major Cathedrals and Abbeys in the United Kingdom taking direct copies from these wonderful and magnificent carvings. These carvings have survived England's rich and varied cultural history and are now part of our unique collection of outstanding pieces that we have put together.  The pieces we produce are some of the finest surviving examples from the master craftsmen of this period and ecclesiastic design and now available for the private collector.

All the pieces we reproduce are hand crafted to the highest standard and produced here in the United Kingdom that capture all the exact fine detail from the original with a very authentic copy virtually indistinguishable from the original.

Over the past 15 years Oakapple Designs have gained an excellent reputation from both the Cathedrals and Abbeys in the UK and their own customers based upon their trust, reliability and professionalism.

We have taken copies of carvings from many Cathedrals including Lincoln Cathedral, Ripon Cathedral, Beverley Minster, Ely Cathedral, Cartmel Priory and Carlisle Cathedral.

Our customers include York Minster, Lincoln Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Windsor Castle, English Heritage and the National assembly for Wales.
