Little Ripon Bird. Taken from the medieval carvings (1490 - 1495) from within the choir stalls of Ripon Cathedral on one of the lavishly ornate carved Misericords. This carving is of a small bird just landing on a flower and foliage. The Misericords are full of lavish carvings of roses and ornate foliage. This piece has the addition of a little bird with it's wings spread out as though it's just landed or may be about to fly. Again like most of the carvings from Ripon this is in exceptional condition and recreated with all the fine detail from the master craftsmen that carved them. Comes with wall fixing and product label. Size (H) 14cm x (w) 22cm. |
