Corbel with Eye's Open. One of a pair of small-carved corbels from the pulpit of Carlisle Cathedral. Originally carved in Antwerp Belgium (1559 AD) for a local church in the city. Both carvings are of a man, one with his eye's open and the other with his eye's closed. These carvings are small but quite detailed and capture all the fine artistry that went in to making them nearly 500 years ago. Comes with mounting ring so that can be wall mounted and has a product label. Size (H) 6cm x (w) 6cm. |
